Privacy policy
Clippitz is a local video editor for Android, published by Red Sky Forge. This policy explains the app, this website, and what happens if you contact us.
Effective date: 18 October 2026
1. Who is responsible
Red Sky Forge publishes Clippitz and operates clippitz.com. For privacy questions or requests, contact davedx@gmail.com.
2. Media and project data on your device
When you choose photos, videos or audio, Clippitz reads the selected files and their metadata, such as filenames, media type, dimensions, duration and image orientation, to import, preview and edit them. Selected media may come from a cloud-backed Android file or photo provider; that provider handles retrieval under its own policy.
The app stores working copies, project names, edit settings, text, thumbnails, audio waveforms and generated media in its private storage on your device. Imported copies can retain metadata from the original files. Editing, effects, speech cleanup and video export run locally. Red Sky Forge does not receive this content.
3. Microphone and storage permissions
Microphone permission is requested when you choose to record a voiceover. Recorded audio is used in your project and stored locally. You can deny or revoke microphone access in Android settings and continue using other editing tools.
Photos and videos are selected using Android’s media picker; audio is selected using Android’s document picker. On Android 8 and 9, storage permission is requested to save exported videos to your gallery. On newer versions, gallery exports use Android’s media storage APIs.
4. Optional text-to-speech
If you generate a voice from text, the text is passed to your device’s installed Android text-to-speech engine. Clippitz selects a voice marked as installed and not requiring a network connection. The generated audio is saved locally. The speech engine is a separate service provided by your chosen engine provider; its data practices are governed by that provider’s policy. Installing voices may use the provider’s network services.
5. Sharing and other services
Exported videos are saved to your device’s gallery. If you choose Share, Android gives the receiving app you select access to the exported video. That app handles it under its own privacy policy. Gallery or backup apps you use may independently synchronize saved exports to the cloud. We do not sell your data or send your media to advertisers.
Clippitz does not include advertising, tracking identifiers, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. Android, Google Play and device manufacturers may independently process installation, diagnostics or service data under their own policies and your device settings.
6. Retention and deletion
Working media, drafts and generated files can remain in app storage until you clear Clippitz’s app storage in Android settings or uninstall it. Removing an item from a timeline does not necessarily remove its stored source copy. Temporary files may remain until the app or Android clears them.
To remove all private app data, use Android Settings → Apps → Clippitz → Storage → Clear storage (wording varies by device), or uninstall the app. This permanently removes local drafts. Original files and exported gallery videos are separate: delete them using your gallery or file manager, and separately remove any copies held by cloud or sharing services. Clippitz has no user accounts to delete, and we cannot remotely access or erase your device’s files.
7. Security
Projects and imported working copies use Android’s app-private storage and operating-system access controls. Clippitz disables Android app cloud backup and device-transfer backup for its private data. Exported files are outside that private storage and accessible according to your device and other app permissions. Keep your device secure; we do not claim that files have additional app-level encryption or that any storage is completely risk-free.
8. This website
This website is hosted by Cloudflare. Delivering and protecting it involves processing technical request data such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information and request times. Cloudflare may process that data in countries outside your own and retain operational or security records under its applicable service terms and policies.
We do not add advertising trackers, analytics scripts, embedded videos, remote fonts, cookies or local-storage identifiers to this website. Cloudflare may use security mechanisms, including necessary security cookies, where enabled. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Links to Google Play or other websites take you to services with their own policies.
9. Contacting us and your rights
If you email us, we receive your address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use these to respond, troubleshoot and handle privacy requests. Email is handled through Google’s Gmail service, which processes and stores messages under its applicable terms and policies. Please do not send sensitive footage unless necessary.
We retain correspondence while needed to resolve your request and maintain relevant support records, or as legally required. You can ask us to delete correspondence; we will remove it where no continuing legal or legitimate need requires retention. Email-provider backups may persist according to that provider’s retention practices.
Where applicable, we rely on legitimate interests to operate and secure the website and respond to requests, and on legal obligations where required. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, request portability, and complain to your local data protection authority. Email davedx@gmail.com to make a request concerning information we hold. Device-only projects remain under your control as described above.
10. Children and policy changes
Clippitz is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app. If you believe a child has supplied personal information to us in a support message, contact us so we can address it.
We will update this policy when the app or our practices change and revise the effective date. Material changes will also be communicated in the app or other appropriate channels when required.
